There is no way to "open" this computer now.
(we cann't even start windows 98 any more.)

After turns on the computer power, it shows on screen:

[ERROR
0187: EAIA data access error]

This is an IBM ThinkPad notebook computer with P3 700 CPU, and only being used for two years. It installed Win 98 Chinese version.

We have tried to reboot it from a system reboot floppy disc, but it doesn’t work either.

Please advise what kind of problem it is. Was it a computer virus issue? Or please recommend how to fix it
