The first one was very rude and asked: "Are you going to stay there if you get the job?" I looked into his eyes and said: "I'm only going for an interview. It isn't illegal, is it?" I also showed him my round trip ticket. The guy was unhappy and gave me a lesson on the need to get a proper visa to work in US if I got an offer. For obvious reason, he gave me only two days to stay in US, which was fine for me. The second officer was very nice and said "good luck for your interview."
I used the "telling the truth" strategy because a friend told me his story and I believe in this approach. My friend went for an interview and was denied entry because he told the officers he's visiting. The officers told him frankly that they didn't like him to go for an interview. But they would let him go if he had told the truth. After all, there's nothing wrong with a job interview. You are not guaranteed a job. Even you get an offer, it's not the customer officers' responsibility to decide whether or not give you a visa.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
