只要孩子出生前两个月,你还在领EI,就可以去HRDC申请将regula EI 转为maternity EI。

但regular EI + maternity EI 总共只可拿50周,即,如果先前领了36周EI,则maternity EI 只有50-36=14周。如果先前领了10周,则领完15周的maternity EI 后,还没有找到工作的话,可以继续另regular EI,但总共也只有50周。你可以上HRDC的网页查看,或发EMAIL给HRDC 的职员,他们会回答你的问题的。
If you are already receiving regular benefits, you may ask your local
HRDC office to change your claim from regular to maternity benefits 8
weeks before the estimated date of birth.

    • 怀孕可以延长EI?没听说过呀。拿EI时,早就离开工作岗位了,怎么会算MATERNITY LEAVE呢?倒是听说有人为了防止被LAYOFF,而怀孕的。(没有经验,纯熟一家之言)。
