I have no idea what kind of mod chip is that, but I can tell you how to use a ps2 with mod chip.

You have to buy a game shark - one plug in chip and one cd. You have to make sure the game shark chip plug in when you are going to use downloaded or burnt games, and you have to use the cd before you put in your game cd. I dont play ps2 games on my own but I saw how it works so many times. I think it's a better way to save money since either buy ps2 games or rent them is expensive.
I think the store sales ps2 with mod chip is computer ultra. You could call them and get more detail about it.
