Jabber's English Note

What are catchy words?

Sometime ago, I cited a phrase in my note, which reads "Spring ahead, Fall Back". It describes "day-light saving time", or summer time.

Recently, I travelled to Virginia Beach. On a rest area, I saw a big board with some words reading "Crush Crime, call 1-800-xxx-xxxx". One can take "crush" either as a verb or a noun.

Three years ago, I drove to Atlantic City in New Jersey. Along the highway, some signs greeted my eyes: 1) Keey Alert; 2)Keep Awake; 3)Keep Alive......

"You take care of your job, while we take care of you". This is a very famous commercial English.

A few days, there are an article in Washington post, entitled "Like Father, Like Son". The point is that both President Bush and his father won the war but failed in reviving the domestic economy.

Just some examples. Not organized writings. Apologize in advance.
