Party! Party!

I am not a party person. Usually I prefer to stay home all day, but sometimes I have to go out and join a party.

But it is fun, isn't it?

The first party I have was last December. That was a Christmas party hosted by the company I worked for. It was in an Italian restarant. Oh, gosh, I don't know the name of the dishes. I read the menu and only found myself not knowing half of the words. So I gave up. And whatever the lady sat beside me ordered, I followed to order the same.

That was interesting, wasn't it? hehe

    • what did you order? :)
      • To be honest, I don't know the name. I can only remember there were shrimps and scallops in the main dish.

'Tis the season to be jolly! Soon, Christmas was so close. Everywhere I was going, there were carols, candles, wreaths. That was so Christmas and I missed my parents.

A nice couple invited me to their home to spend Christmas with them. I felt so cared about and I bought a box of chocolates for the hostess.

We had a quiet but happy night together. The turkey dinner was so delicious, actually it was not the dinner but it was the warmth and lights in the house let me feel Iike I was at my own home.

After dinner we exchanged gifts, I got a big box of gifts, including,a CD player, scarf, two books, photo frame.

I will never forget that Christmas.

It seems Canadian people like to take every chance to have a party. Last weekend I attended a retirement party.

The hostess has been a teacher for 32 years and she just retired this summer. In her own words, she felt " just have to have a party to celebrate."

So we had an open house party from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. It was very casual, we sat at the backyard, small talk, then left.

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛That was a missionary's funeral. But I would like to call it a funeral party, because it is very different from the other funerals.

Of course, there were tears in people's eyes. They felt sorry for the loss the missionary's children.

But the missionary was such a wonderful person when he was alive, he always brought laughter to people around him. When his grandson paid the tribution, he said his grandfather would not like to see people crying over his dead body.

So the family made a presentation of the missionary's peictures, there were pictures the missionary wearing mask playing with grandchildren, there were pictures the missionary eating ice cream with a mess all over the face, there were pictures the missionary lying on the beach with a big stomach. The family tried to show people a real picture of the missionary.

And after that, the grandchildren paid another special tribute to their grandfather. They wrote a song for him and the whole family sang together.

That was really nice. At least I learned you can always have your special way to commemorate your lost loved one.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
