Jabber's English Note

This note is abosultely for fun.

My boss's son is doing intern in our group. (We are a private company, so we shouldn't blame anybody on this.) The young man told us that he has parted from his former girlfriend. I cut in and asked him: "Did you mean Stephanie?". He answered: "Yes. But she is absoluetly no Stephanie. She is step-on-me."

What a word game!

It recurrs to me a story told by one of my co-workers. One day, he had lunch with a group of Americans. One of them suddenly asked my friend: "I heard that you Chinese guys eat dog meat. Is that true?" My friend answered. "Sort of true. Our dogs are meat dogs, not pets."

    • what did those American react after they heard of your friend's answer?
      • dogs are same whatever they are pets or meat dogs. but we should ask American that they ate beef. However, oxes for us are labour worker. Why they ate them.
