In general, if you were born in Canada you are a Canadian citizen. You are also a Canadian if you were born in another country after 15 February 1977 and one of your parents was a Canadian citizen before your birth.

redhill, can u help me with this?thxPermanent residents comply with residency obligations if they accumulate two years of physical presence in Canada in every five-year period. If they are outside Canada for extended periods of time, they can accumulate residency days if they are:
accompanying a Canadian spouse or common-law partner, or are a child accompanying a parent;
Here above is a paragraph from new Immigration law, what is the defination for the word " child", under 18 years old or 22 years old?

A child is someone under the age of 22 who has never been married or in a common-law relationship.

is this " child " the same definition as that " child" in glossary of the Immigration Law?I got this question because a lawer told me here should be a "child" under 18, but another one told me it should mean under 22, I am a little confused. Actually I think it should be 22.

the definition of this "child"-----simple as this. But I got 2 different answers from 2 different lawyers. I guess the one told me " under 18" was wrong------she even holds a law hotline, what is wrong.

如果你所指的是“Permanent Residency Obligations”,应该是22岁吧?你的律师是不是指的是在另外一种情况下?

yeah, I meant “Permanent Residency Obligations”,I am pretty sure she was wrong. I called her hotline, she might not very good at immigration law, maybe good at other fields of law

只要你还能给孩子上户口,你的孩子应该是有2个国籍,当然不能同时使用。前提是你不上报给党中央。:)

中国政府可以认为孩子是中国籍。加拿大政府可以认为孩子是中国和加拿大双重国籍。
