枫下茶话 / 法律 / 请问申请入籍时,英文名字可不可以放到正式名字中去?也就是将来拿到加拿大护照时,上面的名字含有英文名字(好多香港人护照上的名字都是这样的)。因为申请改名比较麻烦,而且时间有些来不及了,所以想到这个折衷办法。

这也算改名,必须有证明文件才可以,没什么特别理由还是不要改英文名了,你可以在生活中用英文名,这和你在身份证件等正式法律文件上用原来的中文名没有矛盾。有什么理由非要改个英文名呢? 不改会死人么?姓名乃父母所赐,请尊重自己父母,尊重自己的血统和家族传承

I think you would have to change your first name before getting the citizenship. I think it will be convenient for you if you plan spend the rest of your life here.Since an English name is enough for living in Canada. Haven't you met some Chinese (especially girls), when they introduced themselves, they seemed not willing to disclose their Chinese name, always said "my name is .... Maggie, Nancy, Lucy, Rebecca, etc. When someone insist to know their Chinese name, they just said the same, just call me Maggie, Nancy, Lucy, Rebecca ........... Pei!
